Brunch at the Gallery Mess Chelsea

Happy Wednesday loves! If you follow me on Snapchat (@taniabunic) you would have seen that on Sunday we spent a day shooting and having brunch at the Duke of York Square, Chelsea. We went to the Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery for some delicious food as we felt starved after shooting for almost over an hour.

Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to visit Saatchi as we were pressed for time but Gallery Mess was definitely on our to-do list for that day. It was a nice day and they have a terrace, which made it quite busy if not popular amongst all Saatchi visitors, needless to say, brunch was what we looked forward to the entire day.

The Brasserie like atmosphere at the Gallery Mess provides a perfect location for a smarter kind of branch with white tablecloths, vaulted ceilings and displays of art. It’s perfect for a family outing especially if you are after cultural activities and with Saatchi right next door, you will be spoiled for choice.

We arrived around 4pm still in time to catch the Sunday brunch, which is, by the way, served all day. It was a busy afternoon and they run out of quite a few things off the menu including the Sunday Roast and Steak and Chips. Regardless of this, there was still plenty of other food options to order from. We didn’t fancy any alcoholic drinks so we opted for Wild Elderflower Bubbly, as I’m quite obsessed with Elderflower and I love ordering it every chance I get.

For starters, we chose Hass Avocado with grapefruit, dill dressing & feta and a Broccoli soup. For my main course, I had Cod & Her Persillade where my sister opted for BBQ pork belly, crispy fennel & parsnip slaw on a brioche bun. We also decided to order some side dishes including Broccoli and Almonds as well as Minted new potatoes.

The food and the setting were gorgeous and exactly what we expected from a brunch spot in Chelsea. They offer so many different brunch options on the menu that you will feel spoilt for choice. The food was not overly pricey for the area and the quality of it was quite satisfactory. I think the service was little slow in the beginning and lack the attention to detail, however, I think they heard me when I commented on it and it improved afterwards. All in all, if you are on the Kings Road and looking for a posh-ish brunch without hurting your pocket too much, I would say definitely check the Gallery Café Out.

I’m off to Rome on Friday so make sure you follow me on SNAPCHAT @taniabunic. Have a lovely rest of the week.
