Culloden Spa was a highlight of my relaxing weekend in Holywood Belfast. I have published our stay at the Culloden Estate so you can have a look HERE, in case you missed it.
I was really tired and tensed so I can tell you that I was in need of a relaxing but rejuvenating massage that will relax my body as well as my mind, The entire weekend was really super relaxing and exactly what I needed to prepare myself for the busy month ahead. I started my day with a Bamboo Massage and Afternoon Tea, followed by a 12km hike along the coast and a swill Culloden Spa pool and jacuzzi. To say I was really relaxed at the end of the day would be an understatement. Nonetheless, I had the best night sleep in a long time.
The Bamboo Treatment at the Culloden Spa included the use of bamboo sticks to massage and relax tensed muscles. The treatment included sticks of different lengths to massage the body and give deep and long massage to break the tension build up and stretch the muscles. The therapist explained the treatment before it commenced and asked me to pick an oil to use on the skin. She then applied the oil on my skin focusing on one side of the body before using the sticks to break knots and all the tension that has built up. This bamboo technique only helps to release any tension or stress of the body as the muscle is gently kneaded by the bamboo cane. The massage left me a little sore the next day but I really felt the effects right after the treatment. I also got to enjoy the use of their eucalyptus steam room and the juice bar before and after my treatment which lasted 11o minutes and I haven’t felt so relaxed in such a long time.
After spending around 3 hours in the Spa, we headed to Culloden Estate we popped upstairs for a Champagne Afternoon Tea which was by the way gluten free. We also got to pick our tea and they have over 100 kinds of herbal tea so it was really nice to get to smell all the different kinds. We opted for green tea as it seemed like a good fit after my massage.
After lining our bellies we embarked on exploring the beautiful landscape of Norther Ireland. I never get to spend much time in nature so I welcomed the hike with open arms. The views of the Irish Sea and coast were breathtaking and we really spend a good few hours walking up the coast, stopping to take pictures and appreciate our surroundings.
We did feel quite tired after the walk so I thought an hour in a jacuzzi would be a perfect end to our day. The Culloden Spa is so relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it, as you can iamgine. We had a dinner booked at the Mitre restaurant, however, after showering and putting our robes on, we instantly felt asleep.
I really can’t recommend this relaxing escape enough and Culloden Spa service was so perfect that I felt like a princess.
