Dalloway Terrace Al Fresco Dining London

I get quite excited when I hear that there is a new restaurant opening in London. This, as you can imagine, is quite an often occurrence and I try my best to visit as many as possible. Dalloway Terrace is the latest addition to Bloomsbury’s hidden gems and one of the cutest restaurant terraces I have been to in a while.

Nestled just off Great Russell Street in The Bloomsbury hotel in the heart of Bloomsbury, an area rich with literary history and home to Virginia Woolf who has created the eponymous character that the Dalloway Terrace has been named after.

We decided to visit for a late Sunday lunch. I was so impressed by restaurants interiors designed by Alexander Waterworth (Interior Designer for Annabel’s London and The Musket Room New York) who draw the inspiration from the 1930’s. It’s quintessentially British with floral motifs feature throughout the menus, stylish and contemporary setting with pops of green really brings out the elegant atmosphere that oozes across the restaurant. It felt like being in a beautiful fairytale garden. London doesn’t lack in Al Fresco dining restaurant options but the Dalloway Terrace is highly up the top of my current list.

We started our lunch with a glass Prosecco followed by starters. I opted for Dorset crab on toast watercress whereas my sister chose a Pea soup accompanied with a basket of a daily bread selection. For mains, I decided to have grilled organic salmon steak cucumber, dill & lemon and Sandra had a Dry-aged Aberdeen Angus steak with cauliflower, steamed kale and chips on the side. I paired my Salmon with Lorosco Sauvignon Blanc.
For desserts, we opted for an ice cream selection and pecan based cake kindly recommended to us by the friendliest waiter Abel who by the way looked after us so well as well as his colleague Collin, thank you guys.

The food was really delicious but nothing less was expected from Dalloway Terrace, the service was the top notch and I’m really impressed by the entire setting of the restaurant. Although we only went for lunch, the Dalloway Terrace is a perfect spot for a date as it’s nestled away from all the hustle and bustle and little tea lights holders positioned on the table in the early evening really make the atmosphere romantic.

Do you enjoy Al Fresco dining?

  1. I love it when you can still dine outside when it’s a bit chilly, and they give you those lovely blankets. So snug. And such a nice way to feast!

I don’t mind Al Fresco dining as long as there’s something to keep me warm and a glass of wine to make things even better. Dalloway Terrace looks like a nice place and also food looks delicious.
