Dinner at the Tsukiji Sushi Restaurant Mayfair

Happy Wednesday guys, I swear time flies! Last Friday I took my friend Natalie for some sushi to Mayfair, we decided to go for Tsukiji at the Westbury Hotel on Conduit St. Tsukiji Sushi restaurant is a small 20 seater restaurant that most likely you will need a reservation for in order to guarantee yourself a table.

I usually like to have an early dinner so we were lucky to be able to book around 6pm for a quiet one, the restaurant started filling up around 7pm which is usually a popular time to start your supper in London, unless you are planning the late one. The atmosphere was very relaxed and our waitress was very attentive. The dark red wood interiors oozed luxury and elegance. I was really excited to try the food especially sushi as with the summer right around the corner you want to watch your carb intake as much as possible. To be honest I’ve always been a big fan of sushi and I like to take every opportunity to have it especially if I’m dining out.

We started our meal with a generous serving of Gin and Tonic, food wise our waitress recommended I go fro the 9-course tasting menu, however, Natalie is not the biggest raw fish fan so she opted for Prawn Tempura and Grilled Salmon. My tasting menu started with Buna Shimejo mushrooms with the green sauce followed by Hamachi New Style Sashimi, Tatko Chu Toro and Jalapeno salsa, Octopus Carpaccio with Truffle mustard miso dressing, Grilled oyster which unfortunately they run out of and I was served with the squid instead.

By this point I was full, however, light full I didn’t feel as though I stuffed myself so I decided to continue with the remaining courses. Squid followed by a Seared Salmon Maki, Chef choice New Style Sushi and Black Cod. I added the picture of every single dish in the same order below so you can see how delicious the food looks. We finished eating with the green tea sorbet which was quite sour and refreshing.

Well not only does it look delicious, it absolutely was. I quite enjoyed it and the Tsukiji Sushi restaurant was so kind to offer to you my lovely readers 10% off the total bill if you present them with the code “THELONDONTHING1”. So go on and treat yourself to a lovely good quality sushi in the heart of Mayfair.

I hope you have a lovely rest of the week.
