Duomo Milan: what I wore and the best time to visit

Duomo Milan is one of the bloggers favourite Italian landmarks and nonetheless overly photographed. But you know they say when in Rome….or Milan in this case 🙂

If you ever find yourself in Milan, Duomo Milan will probably be the first site you want to visit and see. Unfortunately, this is how most visitors think so Piazza del Duomo Milan is one of the busiest in the whole of the city. It’s such a beautiful creation that I really recommend you follow my step and wake up early to catch the sunrise over the Cathedral and enjoy it without many people around. I arrived at 6.30am to meet Carolina, my lovely photographer in Milan. We were so lucky to catch the first morning light and take these gorgeous photos without many people around. I tried capturing the Duomo from all the different perspectives so I really hope you guys like my photos.

In a true blogger fashion, I went shopping for an outfit that would fit the best with Duomo Milan as a backdrop. I opted for this cute colourful flower print Zara dress that I snapped on the sale for under ÂŁ20. Sadly it’s sold out but here is a cute alternative. I wanted to keep it colourful by adding my pink Gucci bag and sticking the pink colour palette. I wore my Chanel slingbacks to complete the look. Since the Duomo Milan is white greyish colour, you should wear colourful outfits if you want them to pop against the background.

I absolutely enjoyed my time in Milan, at times maybe a little bit too much. However its such a lovely place and one of those cities that you need to live to appreciate even more. People are so friendly and good looking that going places was an absolute pleasure. I will also share the hotel we stayed in this week so make sure you check back in a couple of days.

Spring is hopefully just around the corner (maybe if I keep typing it then it will come true) – despite all the freezing cold weather we have had recently, I’ve refused to welcome anymore knitwear or thick coats into my life. Anything I purchase from here on out has to be able to work through spring/summer, and hopefully there will be some sunshine and questionable tan lines along the way…
