An Evening at the Duke Of York Square Chelsea

Happy Wednesday! Last week I embarked on a bloggers evening at the Duke of York Square in Chelsea and I wanted to share the lovely time I had.

Chelsea is absolutely a must visit if you are in London and Duke of York Square is a great location to start your visit as it’s not only a home to the Saatchi Gallery but it also offers over 30 fashion and beauty stores including Zara, All Saints, Liz Earle, Links of London and Monica Vinader just to name a few; 6 restaurants including Manicomio where we had dinner and all bunch of other independent boutiques that you could spend the entire day browsing and shopping in.

We started our evening with a private tour of Taschen Gallery where Naomi Campbell launched her limited Collectors Edition Book the evening before. Some of the attendees included Burberry Creative Christopher Bailey. Taschen Chelsea offers an amazing selection of celebrity signed limited edition books as well as a gallery showcasing the work of so many amazing photographers including Annie Leibovitz. I loved the fashion books including the ones of Helmut Newton and Mario Testino and these would make an amazing present. We had a lovely evening drinking Champagne and hearing about all the amazing work that goes into producing the prints that live in Taschen. I definitely recommend you pay Taschen a visit next time you are in the area.

After viewing at Taschen we hopped over to Manicomio which aside the restaurant in Chelsea they also have one in the City of London. It was so nice to catch up with everyone whilst sipping on cocktails and champagne. I don’t usually like drinking during the week but social events in London always call for a glass of Champagne or a cheeky cocktail. The drink followed by a selection of amuse-bouche including the tasty truffle soup, I’m obsessed with anything truffle, it’s not even funny. For my starter, I opted for Prosciutto di Parma, followed by Organic Rhug Farm Chicken and Buttermilk Pannacotta dessert to finish off my meal nicely.

The setting was so pretty with a garden like decorations and lanterns throughout, the food was also delicious and the company even better. I took a few pictures, as usual, to show you as much of the atmosphere as possible.

I always wonder why don’t I visit Chelsea more often as there is so much to do and see. I’m excited to go to Chelsea in Bloom – 23rd to 29th May which in case you are not familiar with is The alternative floral art show, in association with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Also, there is the Rolling Stones Exhibition at Saatchi, which I have been meaning to go to. Once I attend these cool Chelsea happenings maybe I can put it all together in another area guide post for you!

What did you think of my evening? Have you ever been to Chelsea?
