YSL Opium is one on of those elegant scents that you tend to keep for special occasions. I was so excited to see that YSL introduced one of my old time favorite perfumes in the form of EDT slightly different to the Black Opium EDP but still with the same mysterious and feminine vibe.
I took the pictures in Marrakech as typically I use my Black Opium EDP during Autumn/Winter but the Black Opium EDT is so versatile and lovely that is suited for a warm evening in spring. The unique sweetness based on the notes of blackcurrant, citrus and pear accord can be smelled on the first inhale. The fruity undertones are mixed with floral with the hint of jasmine and orange blossom giving this lovely EDT edition a rather inviting scent. And of course, we can’t forget the classic strong creamy white mask and coffee undertones which make the Opium range so unique and favourite with a dash of rock chick vibe. White musk is the scent that always gets me, it reminds me of so many happy memories and times. I always look for fragrances that are based on musk as its not only a mysterious and elegant but it triggers emotions that I cherish dearly.
The bottle is so beautiful, a squared designed with a classic circle in the middle draped in the rose gold glitter finish to give the fragrance a feminine touch. It photographed so well mixed with pink roses and my white outfit. I really love the softer side to this edition and I wanted to express it not only with the lovely garden location but with the close. Despite it being an evening scent, us brave girls can take it in the day and add the rock chick vibe to a soft and feminine look. I think this is why I like it so much and it will make a perfect Christmas present to my loved ones.
