A rather Healthy Brunch at the Farmacy Notting Hill

So I just booked my trip to California and I have made a conscious decision to eat healthy excluding gluten and dairy from my diet as well as meat as much as possible. The latter is the hardest one though since I’m a massive carnivore but nonetheless I decided to pay Farmacy in Notting Hill a little visit.

Farmacy is a new plant based restaurant opened in Notting Hill serving mainly vegan vegetarian dishes free from refined sugars, chemicals all the nasty additives and diary. They also have a decent selection of gluten and dairy free options so if you are celiac then you can’t go wrong with Farmacy in Notting Hill. Located on Westbourne Grove minutes’ walk from Nothing Hill and Portobello Market is a really nice way to start your day in the healthiest possible way before embarking on a little vintage shopping and Portobello Road market browsing.

Farmacy Notting Hill makes healthy eating far away from dull. They offer a large variety of dishes including burgers, pizzas, soups, sandwiches and my favourite special salads and earth bowls. There are also a few dessert options available that will leave you more than satisfied.

We met in Notting Hill on a Saturday afternoon and really wanted to treat ourselves to something delicious and healthy as the night before was quite opposite of that. We started our meal with an Alkaline Booster a great source of magnesium with cucumber, kale, celery, spinach, romaine, lemon & parsley which let me tell you got me feeling super energised. It was a rather odd taste at first but it felt like this is exactly what I needed. They also served Syringe Shots of ginger, turmeric, cayenne & lemon and flaxseed oil, cannabis oil & grapefruit, which seemed rather popular as a lot of people around us were having them but we felt we needed a longer drink and opted for cold pressed juice instead.

Food wise I ordered Green Eggs Bowl which is Gluten free and consists of quinoa served with a lightly steamed mix of broccoli, kale & garlic aioli available with avocado or poached egg. Monique opted for a Macro Bowl which is not only Gluten free but also nut free and vegan filled with activated quinoa served with avocado, seaweed, sauerkraut, steamed seasonal greens & sweet potato with a sesame ginger dressing. We also felt quite greedy and decided to order Gluten Free House Pancakes made with buckwheat flour served with fresh fruit, coconut ‘yoghurt’, chia berry jam & maple syrup and a Nice Cream Brownie Sundae another gluten free Farmacy brownie served with vegan vanilla Nice Cream, seasonal fruits, raw cacao & house made maca caramel.

The setting complimented food in the best possible way and it’s definitely one of my new favourite brunch spots in Notting Hill especially when I’m after something super healthy. I reduced gluten out of my diet massively and have no cravings for it so I love how I feel when I have a good healthy meal instead of processed options that are thrown at us everywhere.

Do you guys have any favourite healthy restaurants where you are?

  2. This sounds great, especially since I’m allergic to milk, so I can’t do dairy.

Oh my gosh I NEED to go here!!! This is so my kind of cafe babe! There’s so many cafes like this in Melbourne and I’ve missed them so much since moving here, there’s nothing like this in Liverpool. Definitely going to pop this on my list of places to go when I come to London next. By the way I’ve cut back majorly on gluten and dairy too and I feel amazing! I’ve also been a vego for more than ten years, and only eat fish on occasions. So I’m the biggest advocate for a vego lifestyle! You go girl! Looking forward to hearing how you go with everything! PS. So jealous you’re going to California, I’d LOVE to go there! Xx

Too cute. The bowl looks so yummy, but the dessert even more so! This is such a great idea–I’m definitely wanting to write about healthy/yummy places in Austin. Great post! x
