London Fashion Week Favourites

London Fashion Week is the time of the year where fashionistas meet to watch amazing creations that are in line to set the trends for the next season. During the week creativity flows wildly as the designers prepare to showcase their styles.

I chose 8 designers that stood out for me and whose clothes most fit my style.

Burberry Prorsum

I’m so excited that the centre of this year’s Burberry catwalk are all-white sneakers, medium sized handbags worn across the shoulder, sheer dresses (that leave little to the imagination) paired with cropped denim jackets with front pockets. All in all, piece’s I will be investing in next season. The other highlights from their show that I absolutely adore are bright rose red coloured lips with nothing more than a good coverage foundation and lash extension mascara.

David Koma

I loved the whole collection by David Koma, the artistic director of Mugler. Gorgeous black and white dresses architecturally designed with just the right amount of bright colours around the hem. I also adored his electric blue pieces. Overall the colour choice for the whole collection was spot on.

Erdem

See through lace, gorgeous dark greens and beautiful white quilted dresses, Erdem’s collection made me think of a garden that is almost dark and unapproachable but still beautiful. I love that the lace trend is continuing into Spring Summer 2015 and I will certainly be getting one of these staple pieces.

Huishan Zhang

Ok I know I started every single sentence with oh I love this collection however, these are my favourite picks from London Fashion Week and I must say Hiishan Zhang’s collection really impressed me. Every piece is so beautifully crafted. For such a young designer he shows so much maturity in his collection, really designing for the established woman. The classic pastel shades and volumous skirts are juxtaposed with the more intricate details of the collection, for instance the beaded draping and feathered accessories.

MCQ

This collection is my favourite; so contemporary and edgy complete with metallic overlays but yet still simple and easy to wear silhouettes. If I could, I would purchase every single piece from McQueen’s collections.  Watch out for those metallics next season!

Mulberry

Oh Mulbery never seizes to disappoint so pretty and classy. The British garden inspired looks with military shirts, halter dresses in white, elegant sporty tracksuits. Parkas are still very much in fashion worn with pretty dresses. The Delphie which is their latest bag can be used on multiple occasions. Great collection all in all.

Ralph Lauren

Khaki Green combinations, lovely shades of yellows, orange and of course black, Ralph Lauren is taking us all on safari this season. This collection is sportier with an appropriate level of chic. I loved the cropped black sweaters paired with floor length skirts, so beautiful.

Tom Ford

Tom Ford oozes sexiness with this collection, models wearing tight sequin tops, flared trousers and devilish short skirts. Gold and silver metallic dresses are seen on Tom Fords catwalk. Another trend to watch out for this upcoming season are the dark black smokey eyes and dewy fresh skin combined with messy hair. An overtly sexy look, love it.
