London Markets and Sunday Roasts

Hey guys,

It’s almost Christmas and I’m super excited. I have planned my menu and have my shopping list ready so all its left is to purchase food 🙂 I love fresh produce and eating as many vegetables as possible so leaving it to the last minute is kind of a good idea.

London is really well known for its cool markets and one of the most famous London Markets is the Borough Market which is a must if you are a food lover. They have so many cool stalls with lovely fresh fruit and vegetables, cheeses, meats, olive oil and every other kind of oil. So if you are after something little more special to add to your daily meals than I highly recommend you pay a visit to Borough Market.

For you who don’t know, Borough Market is based on the South Bank just by the London Bridge (click HERE for the Map). It’s open for lunch Monday to Tuesday 10 am to 5 pm and full market days are Wednesday to Thursday 10 am to 5 pm, Fridays 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm. However as it is Christmas they were opened on Sunday 21st and are staying open even on Christmas Eve (click HERE for their Christmas opening hours)

I went on Sunday to explore and to get some more ideas for my Christmas menu and to, of course, to meet my friends for the Sunday roast dinner. I love that Sunday tradition of roaming markets and meeting friends for a roast dinner and catching up.

I met my friend Stephanie and her flatmates at the Southwark Tavern which is located right by the Borough market and it’s a really nice cool little. I opted for a Beef roast and Yorkshire puddings and Peroni beer.

We finished our Sunday by watching Bridget Jones film at Stephanie’s and it was a perfect end to the week.

What did you guys get up to?
