Lunch at the Elk in the Woods Angel

The Elk in the Woods located in a quaint Camden Passage in Angel is one of my recent lunch recommendations for you guys. This cute little spot with tables available outside is a perfect spot for lunch in Angel, especially during summer.

The location of the Elk in the Woods is so perfect and will let you escape the hustle and bustle of the Upper Street. We decided to grab some lunch at the Elk in the Woods on a warm late Sunday afternoon as we found ourselves in the area. I quite like Angel, as it has that small town feel and it’s so perfect for a day out shopping, lunching and drinking.

We asked to be seated outside since it was a surprisingly warm day for London. We Londoners love to take every opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine outdoors especially if the sun is shining. The area is quite quiet however a few passers-by can make you feel like you are somewhere in Europe eating your lunch whilst people watching.

All of their food is locally sourced from London and nearby places including Kent and Suffolk. The menu boasts quite quite a few options so there is something for everybody including brunch lovers. We, on the other hand, opted for a sharing option of a few tapas which we nicely washed down with a glass of wine.

We ordered a small selection of dishes including fried cauliflower with crispy capers and aioli, calamari served with chorizo mayonnaise which was exceptionally nice. We added artichoke and pine nut pesto with houmous and warm pita and grilled halloumi and lemon too as out waiter suggested. Some other great options included smoked deer sausages with toasted fennel and pork meatballs with peach chutney, however, we wound it that 2 plates each were just about enough to satisfy us. You can see their menu here.

All in all, the food was quite yum and not too pricey for their small sharing plates. The service was great too and setting very pretty. I definitely recommend The Elk in the Woods especially if you find yourself in the Angel area.

What do you guys think of my photos?

Mmm everything looks so yummy! That halloumi especially is calling my name… Yum! I’ve only been to Elk in the Woods for dinner but I think I need to try it during lunch time as well and make sure I’m seated outside. 🙂
