Mexican Social Eating at Cielo Blanco Restaurant

I love Mexican food and I always think that there aren’t that many cool Mexican restaurant options in London. So when I’ve heard that there is a brand new Mexican restaurant Cielo Blanco in Exmouth Market, I was so excited to pay it a visit and try the delicious food that this restaurant has on offer.

I love the social dining atmosphere that Mexican cuisine boasts and I loved trying out all the classic including tacos, quesadillas, botanas and grilled meats and of course can’t go without guacamole. The real hero’s of Cielo Blanco menu are their sharing boards that are perfect to share with friends. The size of the board was bigger than expected that my sister and I ended up feeling rather overwhelmed with the amount of food we ordered. Our fault really, but it was too delicious to complain! We opted for the Outdoor-reared belly pork with cumin crackling Marinated baby-back ribs Smokey chorizo meatballs Sweet potato Board which in addition to tacos, quesadillas and tortilla chips with guacamole was difficult to finish. We went for a late Sunday lunch and the weather was gorgeous so we decided to drink long & refreshing Mexican fruit waters and Super juices and Watermelon Cooler sounded just perfect to quench our thirst on a hot Sunday afternoon.

So I’m sure that you guys know that warm weather is quite rare in London so being able to sit outside and watch people stroll down the Exmouth Market made our lunch just that much better. The interiors of the restaurant looked really cool with pops of colour everywhere and intricate ceramic tiling, apparently they took inspiration from Frida Kahlo’s house in Mexico. I also loved that there is a giant tree that sprouts from a large communal table as well as the low-lit basement bar which is based on an artist’s atelier and provides its guests with delicious drinks created by knowledgeable bartenders. We didn’t try any cocktails at this time but I will defiantly be back as the bar looked super chilled and a great spot for either a date or after work drink and a catch-up with a friend.

All in all, I love Exmouth Market and always I almost feel like I’m not in London every time I pay it a visit. I’m happy to have discovered another cool dining and drinking spot which will hopefully prompt me to come to Exmouth Market more often. The food was really delicious and service so attentive that I really recommend Cielo Blanco especially if you are after the social eating concept in London.

Do you guys like Mexican Food and what do you think of our experience at Cielo Blanco?

  3. The food all looks incredible! You really take the most beautiful photos. I’d imagine it’s hard to find decent Mexican food in most European cities. Strangely the BEST I’ve ever had in my life was in Prague. Go figure!

As something with strong Mexican heritage, I approve of this restaurant! Look at it’s vibrant colors, the Virgin Mary on the wall, the drinks (that hand drawn menu is seriously genius!), and the food looks SO delicious. I actually started craving it! You really do take the best photos!
