The Princes Countryside Fund Raceday at Ascot

With Royal Ascot only a couple of months away, I’m so excited to share my recent visit to The Princes Countryside Fund Raceday at Ascot to give you all a little preview of what to expect, if you are planning to visit the infamous race grounds.

Ascot for those who don’t know is a small town in Berkshire quite famous for its races and love by the Royals. It was Queen Anne who discovered its potential back in 1711 whilst out riding near Windsor Castle that in her worlds looked “ideal for horses to gallop at full stretch”. The first event was held later that year.
Despite the fact that the most famous event is the Royal Ascot there are so many other happenings through out the year that you can visit especially if you are into horse racing and country life. I was lucky enough to get invited by Appletiser’s official sponsor of Ascot and spend a day with a few other bloggers in their private box lunching and making cocktails.

We had a cocktail master class held by Richard Woods, a rather famous award winning cocktail innovator. It was so fun to make your own drink and sip it whilst watching races. We all received a guide to cocktail making and recipes to take home for the cocktails we made including Orchard Fizz, Pine Needle Hi Ball, and Pomegranate sparkle. For lunch, we were served chicken and pie followed by bread and butter pudding, needless to say how very British and delicious of course.

The entire day was filled with fun and laughter. I was so excited to walk around the race grounds and take pictures. If you are planning a trip to England or if you leave in London and rarely leave it for the country side like me, then I highly recommend you pay a trip to Ascot and experience what is known to be the ultimate stage for the best racehorses in the world. Royal Ascot is known to be the center of a British social calendar with the Royals attending the races quite frequently. By the way, the Royal Box looked lush 🙂

Have you ever been to Ascot? If not do you have a similar infamous race grounds where you are from?
