San Francisco Hotels: Our Stay at The Alise

When it comes to picking hotels to stay in San Francisco, you will find yourself spoilt for choice. I mean let’s be frank, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to a lot of things in San Francisco. It truly is the special place, although not my favourite on this trip as I felt the balance between rich and poor was so off, in fact, there was no balance at all.

I researched hotels for a bit and decided to go for the Grace hotel, a part of the Stay Pineapple Hospitality Group of Hotels. The Grace has changed to Alise just a week prior to our arrival so I was really excited to stay here. The location is so perfect, its located on Geary Street which is walking distance to the Cable Car museum, Union Square and even a Coit Tower and Fishermans Wharf, if you are up for an under 30min walk. San Francisco is a rare city that is 6 by 6 miles wide and long (or at least this is what I was told) so walking places, really isn’t an issue here.  Hotels are abundant on the Geary street but Alise looked super cool from the outside, representing the San Francisco architecture really well. As with any central location, you will be exposed to a lot of people on the street that includes many of San Francisco homeless people however, it comes with the territory.

The Alise had the most polite nad helpful doorman Rick (who is now our Facebook friend, hey Rick) literally educated us on all the areas of San Fran as well as where to go out based on our requirements on that particular evening. We went out quite a bit and I must admit San Francisco is the most fun to go out in, out of all the places we visited in Cali. Hotels lobby was also super cool, the interior was so cool with pops of yellow all over the place. Yellow is a dominant colour here as it represents Stay Pineapple Branding so everything from the furniture to your coffee mug is yellow. Our room was comfy with a largish bathroom, tv and most importantly a coffee machine. I need to have my coffee the first thing in the morning so this is a must have for me when it comes to hotels.

The bed was super comfortable, however, the room quite small and when we placed our  suitcases on the floor we barely had space to move. I suppose this is the case in San Francisco but if we had put our suitcase away in the provided wardrobe, the room would have just about enough space. On the other had we arrived here from the massive Studio Suite in the Palms in Vegas so any room would seem small after that.

Other that the room size, this is such a cute hotel to chose as a base when visiting San Francisco. Their valet parking service is the best and the location even better.

Have you ever stayed in any of the hotels in San Francisco?
