Terrace Dining At Nomad Marrakech

Nomad is one the coolest restaurants in Marrakech and one of those places you need to know that they exist as its kinda hard to stumble upon. I was quite lucky that my friend visited Marrakech a couple of weeks before Steph and I and recommended that I have lunch or dinner at Nomad.

Nomad is located in the souks and you will probably  need to get lost before you find it. Fear not as everyone working in the souks is quite friendly so feel free to ask them for directions and they will tell you. However, trust your gut and only ask people who you think won’t ask you for money in return. I would recommend checking their Facebook page here as they don’t have a site, as far as I know.

We arrived at Nomad around 1pm, the sun was out so a lunch on their terrace was a winner. The restaurant is stretched over 3 floors and a perfect place to take a break from exploring the souks. Its pink pastel walls, plants and black and white tiles really gave it Moroccan feel and the chabi chic vibe as they like to call it. The host greeted is a very friendly manner and took us to our table, they also asked if we were happy with it as they were more than ok with us choosing our own. I had to sit in the shade so my photos don’t look too washed out as unfortunately, this is what happens when shooting on a sunny day.

To quench our thirst we started with water and Moroccan coffee. Coffee tends to do the opposite actually but I love it so much. As true foodies, we opted for a 3-course meal thinking that we don’t find ourselves on a terrace in the middle of Marrakech that often so why the hell not.

For starters, we opted for Vegetarian Pastilla and a Shaved Cauliflower and Fennel Salad. For our mains, I had Chicken Tagine and Steph decided to go for the fish of the day. Our desserts were a highlight of our meal, traditional Moroccan ice cream with dates and it really is a must try if you find yourself at Nomad. They also serve other traditional Moroccan dishes which they add a twist to and all of the produce they use to prepare their delicious meals are locally sourced and washed in filtered water.

The setting is really beautiful, food delicious and service amazing. I wish we came here in time for sunset however, we chose a different place but I will talk about that tomorrow.

Since I took some time off last week, I will be uploading a post a day for the rest of this week so make sure you come back tomorrow 🙂
