The Ivy Market Grill Covent Garden

Happy Monday from amazing Mallorca lovelies, I was so excited to finally catch up with my sister after being away for a while and what better way to do it than over a lovely champagne afternoon tea. Nothing beats a good Sunday filled with shopping and dining in Covent Garden with one of your favorite people in the world. I had a table booked at The Ivy Market Grill on Henrietta Street, Covent Garden.

I really love trying out different places and afternoon tea has been in my plans for a while so I thought this was a perfect place just to sit down, catch up and enjoy some delicious miniature sweet and savory treats in a rather traditionally gorgeous setting.

We were seated as soon as we got in, and our waiter was so lovely asking us whether we would like to start with coffee or champagne. If it was later than 3pm I would definitely have chosen champagne but since afternoon tea is served 3-5pm we decided it was only sensible to start our tea with an Americano. Our menu included savory treats of truffled chicken gougere, marinated cucumber and dill sandwich fingers and smoked salmon blini with cream cheese and chives, which I thought were particularly delicious. The sweet menu contained warm fruited scones, clotted cream and strawberry preserve which was made by their own chef, fruit cake with cheddar, lemon meringue pie, chocolate opera cake which was I swear from another world and lastly lavender and almond macaroons which were also oh so delicious.

I always go to afternoon tea thinking that its more of a snack rather than a full meal, which technically it is however, I haven’t felt that full in a long time. Champagne was served during our savory treats and it was so delicious and tasty that it’s hard to even describe.

I really enjoyed our time here, the food was so delicious and pretty and the service was absolutely amazing so I definitely recommend you guys try it out. They have two branches one in Covent Garden and another in Chelsea, the Covent Garden one is also really perfect for a pre-theater bite.

I hope you like my pictures guys and as always please leave your comments below as I love hearing form you.

Lots of love!

Tania
