After being quiet for a full month, I’m finally back with a new post.
First of all, I wanted to apologise for the silence, however, my dissertation is taking the best of me and I really had to focus on figuring out the statistics shebang before even thinking about doing anything else. I’m not entirely there but it’s almost done so I’M BACK. Oh, how I missed blogging.
So this Monday I thought I’d share my sisters birthday dinner that I organised for the whole family. We all know how organising someone else’s birthday can be a daunting task but since we all are such carnivores, I thought STK in Aldwych would be our best bet (click HERE for the map).
Based on the ground floor of the ME hotel, the décor is more of a cocktail bar setting rather than a restaurant with large round booths and leather seating, large chandelier hanging from the ceiling and big white flowers decorated sections between the booths. The large theatrical lighting stretches along both sides of the restaurant wall mixed with the dark interiors make you unaware of anyone around you. If you like bright and airy restaurants than I must say that STK’s darkened atmosphere may not be for you. Apparently the DJ comes on around 10 pm making the STK a perfect place for a dinner before the night out with your girls or even a great date spot.
STK London offers a wide range of different cuts of prime beef, but apart from beef, they offer some delicious fish starters including Tuna Tartare, Seared Scallops, Soft shell crab sliders, and my favourite tuna sashimi from the Raw Bar which also offers caviar, snapper ceviche with truffle oil. You can choose a steak that weighs anything from 150G to 750G, I went for a 400G Rib Eye, OMG looks at it!! It was so tasty and filling, I almost passed out. STK also offers other signature dishes include Parmesan Truffle Fries, Shrimp Rice Krispies, Sweet Corn Pudding, Lil’ BRGs and Jumbo Lump Crab Salad.
Also don’t even get me started on their desserts as this crazy dessert wheel is to die for and how sweet were they bringing out this cute chocolate cake with a candle for my sister. We didn’t even ask for it so a big plus there STK.
Last time I was here, our table was booked from Lauren P from TOWIE after our dinner. Radio bar on the rooftop is also a great place to head to after your dinner but I will talk about this place some other time, since this time I haven’t been up.
So make sure you visit STK if you are a meat lover and like a lounge atmosphere with an odd celebrity eating next to you. I recommend booking (click HERE) as it’s always quite busy after 6 pm.
Have a good week everyone!
