I met my friendly Emily the other day for a cup of Teavana’s latest mint green tea matcha late to catch up. I told her that for the past few weeks I have been blogging almost every single day and frankly I’m tired. We, both bloggers, agree that blogging is not as easy as it seems and it offends me dearly when I overhear professionals within the industry saying “She is a blogger, what does she know”. Guilty as I am over a little Teavana gossip, it helps me relax sometimes especially if it is over a good cuppa.
Well, I know how to take nice photos, work the lighting, I know how to edit pictures in numerous software programs. I also know how to write despite the fact English is my second language. I know how to style, apply makeup almost like a pro and I know how to most importantly get myself outside of my comfort zone.
But today I wanted to stop and embrace a moment of calm that catching up with friends bring and just enjoy my Teavana green mint matcha latte whilst we both watch the crowds of people walk by outside. I’ve always been a massive fan of Starbucks especially coffee being my favorite drink in the world and I’m so happy to work with them on this project. Or shall I say I’m so grateful for them to allow me to reclaim my moment of calm? It’s just so nice to take the day off, meet a friend and have a little stroll around the area stopping at Starbucks for a tea and catch up. Or even sometimes I like to do it on my own and just “people watch”. I usually pick the Starbucks in Spitalfields as it’s a busy area so if you are lucky enough to get a window seat, people watching is the best around here. Weirdly, it inspires me to watch all those people walk by with some sort of purpose and you just watch and wonder where are they all going to? This kind of thought stays in mind for a split second until the next person catches my attention and it’s nice just to switch off from your daily tasks, away from your laptop and your phone whilst you hold a hot drink in your hands and wear a warm jumper.
I have now been blogging actively for just over a year and I’ve learned that creating content and adding value to your readers is the most important element. However, sometimes is even more important to stop, take a moment to yourself, find the inner inspiration and just reboot. This time of the year is so perfect for just sitting down by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea if you are lucky to have one or any place that makes you comfortable and reclaim your moment.
I’m so grateful for you guys and please comment below and let me know what you do to reclaim your moment?
