Denim on denim is my go to look when I want to something that is appropriate for the day but at the same time not overly casual. I usually opt for the standard blue denim on denim combo, however, I figured this gorgeous oversized black denim jacket from Rails Clothing deserved to be properly styled.
Rock chic is what I aimed for with this look, and in a true rock spirit, nothing is more appropriate than denim on denim. After spending hours browsing Asos for that perfect top to complete the look, I stumbled upon what’s currently my favorite long sleeve top by Adolescent Clothing with Black Sabbath print. I’ve also read that Black Sabbath had announced their retirements as a band so I also wanted to pay a tribute and wear their line up on my top 🙂
There is something about black and white. I love how these simple colours can be the style in so many ways to achieve anything from classy to cool. I love mixing textures so when I came across black sequined boots in the Zara sale, it clicked and the look was completed. To complete the look I wore ASOS Farleigh high waisted mum jeans with busted knees.
I was in Edinburg over the weekend and the location seemed perfect for a shoot. It was extremely cold so we had to wrap it up pretty quick but nonetheless, I’m pretty happy with how the pictures came out. I really love how versatile this look can be and I’d love wearing it to brunch and even on a date.
What do you guys think? Are you into denim on denim and if so, do you prefer black or blue combo? I to be honest love both combos as its good opt for different options. I’m excited about the LFW this weekend and I may try and style the Black Sabbath for one of the LFW looks.
I’m so excited to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
