Why you need to add montenegro to your travel list part 2

Continuing from my post one, I wanted to share a whole lot more of fun things you can do In Montenegro and give you even more reasons to add this beautiful country to your 2018 travel list.

It also helps that Montenegro is less than 2 hours away and you can travel with a carryon luggage only. I got my hands on a Briggs and Riley Sympatico Onyx suitcase that expands so I can pack so many looks easy.  Without much further ado, here are few more reasons to visit Montenegro this year.

Savina Vineyard 

Did you know that Montenegro produces wine? A very delicious wine if I may add! Probably not as most people don’t even know where Montenegro is and due to its small population, its wine production is only available mainly in the Balkan region. I visited Savina vineyard where I got an amazing opportunity to try some of the local food and wine and as you can probably guess this came with a feeling of overindulgence. How can you blame me tough when the beautiful coastal and mountain view mixed with a crispy rose wine and delicious food can only lead to one enjoying life too much. Savina vineyard is an absolute must and it’s only a short ride away both from Dubrovnik and Porto Montenegro.

Tour of Kotor 

Kotor is a Montenegrian gem and a very unique medieval town with Venetian influences is well known for being a UNESCO protected world heritage site. We had a very informative guide who took us around and talked us through Kotors medieval architecture, churches and quaint streets that boost more character than expected. Getting lost in the streets of Montenegro will come with a feeling of getting lost in the past. Its a truly beautiful place and must visit if you find yourself this side of the world.

Lunch at Perast and visit Our Lady of the Rocks

After a tour of Kotor, we hopped on a boat to lunch in another quaint town Perast. Even though I didn’t have so much time to walk around the town but we did spend a couple of hours enjoying the most delicious seafood I have ever had at Conte restaurant. Our table right next to the water with a view of Our Lady of the Rocks provided the perfect spot to relax and eat the most delicious food.

Our Lady of the Rocks is a man-made island and legend has it that it started from an old seaman finding an icon of a saint and from here he started a tradition where rocks were thrown into the ocean. Over the time the islet emerged from the sea and now on it you will find a church named Our Lady of The Rocks.
