Having had quite a few hectic weeks in London, I decided its time for some well-deserved chill. So I booked myself tickets to Greece opting for an island hopping in the Cyclades with Tinos being my first destinations. I specifically decided to go to Tinos as I wanted to relax and take it slower at the beginning of my trip.
The whole trip was 2 weeks long and I picked Tinos, Mykonos, and Paros and I was very excited ahead of my Greek adventure. I, in all honesty, didn’t know much about Tinos as it’s not as talked about as Mykonos but I was sure it will be as beautiful. So here is my takeout from the visit to Tinos and I hope you find it helpful.
How to get to Tinos
The easiest and most economical way of getting to Tinos is to get your flights booked to Mykonos and take a ferry over to Tinos. There are multiple ferry rides per day and take less than 10 minutes to get to. Tickets were 15 Euros return and I was very much impressed with ferries in Greece and the quality of the service so definitely recommend this form of travel. The ferry will arrive at Tinos town from where you can continue your travel by a taxi or a local bus. My hotel was the only 10minutes ride from the port and less than 10 Euros so it was kinda an obvious choice for me.
Where to Stay in Tinos
Diles & Rinies is a luxury set of villas with a hotel service. Its located 10 minutes from the town center offering the most immense views of the Aegean Sea and surrounding Cyclades. I was very excited to base myself here especially after seeing the size of the pool and my terrace.
I stayed in a Comfort Villa which felt so lovely and homey, I had a direct access to the terrace which was so lovely to sit on in the evenings and watch the sunset. The view of the sea stretched as far as I can see and it truly put me in the best mood and I felt nothing but excitement for the rest of my trip.
I wanted to spend most of my time in Tinos relaxing and working on my tan. After waking up I would pop over to the pool area, order a large Greek coffee and lounge by the pool until I was hungry to have breakfast. The service was so lovely and attentive that in all honesty, I found it hard to leave.
I really loved staying here and if you are after a luxurious and comfortable stay with the best service and views then you will love Diles & Rinies. I took quite a few photos to show you guys as it truly was so beautiful to stay here.
What to do
Tinos is famous for its beautiful villages so I definitely recommend either renting a car or hopping on a local bus in Tinos town and explore as many as possible. One village that everyone visiting Tinos should visit is Pygos. Pyrgos is one of the most beautiful villages you will ever see featuring traditional Cyclades architecture. The village is very small and dreamy so you won’t need more than 3 hours to explore. Marble is featured everywhere and mixed with Pink Bougainvillea flowers with the blue door provides the most picturesque location that will take your breath away.
Other villages that deserve a visit in Tinos are Volax, Panormos, and Isternia also known as a village of artists.
I loved visiting Tinos and exploring its beauty so I definitely recommend you spend 3 days here to truly take in its beauty and have enough time to relax.
Have you ever been to Tinos?
