Hope you loves had a good VDay, I spent the whole weekend working on the presentation for a job interview tomorrow so fingers crossed I get it. I popped over for a late brunch at Bistrotheque on Wadeson Street in East London so thought to share the experience with you.
This is a real East London hidden gem filled with creatives and East London locals every weekend and being a fan myself a say a must visit if you are in the area.
From the outside Bistrotheque doesn’t seem like much, just an old warehouse type of building on an East London’s cobbled street. It’s outside small courtyard and plants may give it out and being hard to locate the industrial chic location is a real cool place for a restaurant.
Once you go up the stairs you get pleasantly surprised how bright and airy the entire place is. We were greeted by their host and were immediately seated. The place oozes hipster and its loft/warehouse style really feel like you may just be in Brooklyn rather than Bethnal Green although both areas share the same creative flare.
Bistroteque has been opened for 10 years if not longer and I frequently visit as I’m a local. I usually go for their standard Eggs Benedict brunch option as it’s really delicious, however, this time, I decided to opt for a Steak Tartare which came with a rather substantial side salad and portion of fries. My sister had a the Chicken and we shared a side of baked sweet potato cooked with cream. We washed it all down nicely with Peach Bellinis my old time favourite.
Although food is on the pricier side, the quality of it is above standard and portions are very large that you really don’t need a side order at all, however, we like to go all in. Meals average at around £15 ish depending on what you order although the brunch menu served until 4 pm on Saturday and Sundays.
Think like French Bistro in a New York loft setting with delicious cocktails and if you are in East London then I say you must check Bistroteque out.
I hope you like this post and wish me luck tomorrow dolls!
