Hey, everyone, I’m crazy busy today but thought to take a little coffee break and update the review on the cutest little hidden Spanish gem Bravas Tapas in St Kathrines Dock in Tower Hill.I adore small areas with a lot of character such as St Kathrines Dock and if you ever find yourself visiting London, I say you must take a lunch or a coffee break at St Katherines Dock. It’s located right next to the Tower Bridge and Tower of London, however, it’s slightly tucked away from the whole hustle and bustle of the Tower Hill.
I love Spanish culture and the cuisine and the way they embrace food and eating and every time I get an opportunity to try a new Spanish restaurant, I almost always take it. I’ve heard a quite a bit about Bravas Tapas from friends so I decided to give it a go and book my sisters birthday dinner here. When we walked in we really felt the Spanish vibe and the atmosphere that The restaurant oozes. I loved how you need to walk pass the gorgeous boats that are docked here and really embrace yourself in an area that hardly feels like London.
Our table was positioned right next to the window overlooking the dock and next to cute colored shutters that especially captured my attention, for a second I thought I was in Spain. Before we ordered our meal I started with a glass of Prosecco which is quite fitting after a long day at work, my sister had a mocktail.
Food wise we opted for Pan Con Tomate which is Toasted Baguette with Tomato & Olive Oil, a standard serving of Bravas Potatoes with Salsa and Alioli; followed by a Grilled Octopus, Crispy Piquillo-Wrapped Prawns and Oyster Fritura. We thought since we are on the coast like setting we may just fancy seafood only. We also had Torta de Santiago and Fresh Macerated Strawberries White Chocolate and Cava served in a mini cut in the half-champagne bottle but the picture I took was too dark to publish.
I have to admit that food was amazing and the Bravas Tapas is indeed a small piece of Spain in the middle of London however, the only negative thing I felt was the time that our food arrived. The dishes were scattered throughout the evening and not in any particular order so I thought it was little weird to eat your potatoes before seafood and for the price of almost 10 quid per dish, I would expect just a little more.
The setting and the taste of food outweighs the negative elements and we managed to thoroughly enjoy our evening.
