If you are following my blog, you might have noticed that I love a good spa. I literally love spending a weekend away in a spa hotel which allows me to relax and rejuvenate, aside from getting to know the area I’m visiting. The Macdonald Monchique Spa and it’s scenic view of the countryside and the coast really puts you at ease and their spas extensive facilities will keep you occupied for hours.
Blogging may seem easy to some but it’s very difficult to do and you never get a day where you can fully switch off. Therefore I try and make the best out of both worlds and have an hour or two spa treatment which allows me to fully switch off for that time and relax. I wanted to share my experience at the Macdonald Monchique Spa as it was really enjoyable.
As you might have already seen from my previous post, my visit to Portugal was very active and at the same time quite relaxing. The Macdonald Monchique Spa is a lovely place to take some to yourself. I enjoyed not only the use of their pool, sauna and the steam room but also treatment rooms. I had a full body massage combined with an anti-aging treatment where Espa products were applied to my skin. The therapist also used a hot stone to massage my body to ensure I thoroughly enjoy my treatment. My skin felt really soft and cleansed after the facial. This is not the first time I’m trying Espa and I can say that I’m a fan of their products. I also opted for a full body scrub and a head massage with their own brand Monchique Cosmetics, which uses local thermal water in its products to radiate your skin.
We also used spas facilities including a sauna with Himalayan rock salt, steam & aroma cabin, Pool themed tropical showers which I loved so much, igloo which I liked little less as ice is not my thing. I did however managed to fall asleep on the marble heated loungers which are a Godsend after a day if traveling.
Needless to say, I felt like a brand new person after the weekend.
What do you think of my pictures?

Lovely photos of the hotel; I was there two weeks ago. Did you enjoy the sound of the birdsong from your balcony? Did you leave the hotel and wander down to Caldas de Monchique? I particularly enjoyed the massage I had, a salt scrub using the Monchique Cosmetics range.
I’d definitely go back for more!
Stunning location ! There is no such thing as a couple of hours at the spa :). Sabrina
That is all i need for a lazy weekend <3
