Hill & Szrok Broadway Market East London

Happy Wednesday loves. I know a lot of you are not from London but if you do ever find yourself in my gorgeous city then you must visit Broadway Market and perhaps pop in for a bite to Hill & Szrok especially if you are a carnivore like me.

Broadway market is one of my favorite areas in East London and there are so many cool places to eat and drink in that I almost feel like I don’t go to it as much as I should. I need to keep it interesting so visiting the same area all the time could get boring to you guys, I imagine.

Hill & Szrok is basically a butcher by day and cookshop by night meaning that they cook what they sell and sell what they cook. They offer range and organic meats from small farms around England at a decent price. By night, they pack up they butchering equipment and transform into a restaurant that serves according to them their best and most interesting cuts from the butchers in a buzzy 25 seater restaurant with a selection of great wines.

I think the menu changes daily, as they actually don’t have the standard menu available. There is this big blackboard in the restaurant and the dishes will depend on what is available on the day. We were quite happy that they had chicken on the day we visited as it was a Sunday and we fancied something meaty but not a roast. The free-range chicken was really delicious and filling, it was cooked in a succulent sauce and really satisfied our cravings for that day. We opted for a side dish of potatoes and Jerusalem artichokes to accompany our chicken and red wine to wash it all down nicely, I, unfortunately, forgot which wine we had but I believe it might have been their house one.

    This is such a cool concept, I haven’t dined in a place like that! I’m sure their meat is always fresh and since it’s butcher, they know how to cook the meat properly! Your food looks delish! x
