Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous – Summer in Winter getaway

I have just returned from a long weekend away with my lovely friend Ashley (Miss Gunner), where we had the best few days at Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous Mallorca. Mallorca is one of my favourite winter sun destinations and I thought that a stay at Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous would be the best way to finish this year’s summer holidays.

From the moment we stepped out of the car, we knew that we are going to have the best weekend at Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous. We were greeted by a friendly reception team who whizzed our bags away and took us to a bar for a complimentary glass or two of Dom Perignon. Ashley and I really needed a refreshment as we caught an early flight and it was so lovely to take a break from gloomy London weather to spend a few days in 25 degrees.

Once we finished our drinks, it took an hour as we chatted away, we were taken up to our room to rest for a little before having lunch on the lovely terrace of the Atis restaurant. The weather was absolutely amazing and we got a table overlooking the beach. Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous has direct access to the beach and both of our rooms had the most beautiful sea views.

The room was very bright and spacious with yellow tones. The room has a double bed with 500-thread sheets, a terrace with table and chairs and a breathtaking view. Bathroom with bath and shower comes with a hairdryer, straighteners and Bulgari toiletries. The room is also fully air-conditioned, comes with a satellite TV, media hub with HDMI, USB, free safe, telephone, Wi-Fi, minibar and my favourite Nespresso coffee maker. My favourite feature was a blue eye as a main feature in the room used as a backdrop for quite a few photos. The room also comes with a pillow menu in case you fancy a change but my bed was so comfortable that it didn’t even cross my mind to order a different pillow.

When Ash and I weren’t in the room, we frequented the restaurant Astir. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here most days and the service alongside food and atmosphere was simply amazing. We got blankets offered in the evenings as it gets quite nippy but we still fancied sitting on the terrace. Mornings on the terrace were absolutely beautiful.

On one of the days, we went to the spa for a signature massage, manicure and pedicures. Our therapists were so lovely and really made sure we were really relaxed. We also made sure we used spas facilities including sauna and the steam room. We also managed to spend some time by the pool as it was so beautiful. Blue tiles feature from the top of the building made another gorgeous backdrop and it was so easy for Ash and I to spend hours taking pictures for our blogs and Instagrams.

All in all, I can highly recommend Iberostar Grand Hotel Portals Nous. The out-of-season rates are affordable for the service you get, and it’s a perfect spot for a romantic getaway especially if you are after sun in the winter.
