Marrakech or Africa, in general, has been on my must visit list for quite some time. I thought starting with Marrakech will be the easiest especially as it’s only 3 hours away from London. Truth to be told I feel quite tired of the constant hustle in London so I decided to swap it for a week long relaxing stay at Dar Zemora.
Dar Zemora is a boutique hotel located in the Palmeraie an area just outside of Marrakech. It took us about 15 minutes to travel into the city center and under 30 to the Menara airport. I was looking for a hotel with a beautiful setting and Moroccan character and despite everyone recommending riads, I really wanted to feel calm and relaxed throughout the entire trip. The hotel could not have been more relaxing with such attentive service that we felt at home and found it hard to leave towards the end of our trip.
We stayed at Zahara Suite with an extremely spacious living area with the fireplace that was lit on for us every evening. We entirely skipped nights out in Marrakech for a nice glass of red wine by the fireplace. Waking up every morning to birds chippering and a breakfast on our private terrace was so soothing that we felt super relaxed. Obviously, as a blogger, I’m not able to stop working, however, working by the pool and in Dar Zemora garden really made it that much easier. I wish I was able to live in such a beautiful place.
Our breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs and coffee and it was a delicious way to start the day. Lunch also served on our terrace is set and changes daily as well as dinner, which is served in Dar Zamora’s dining area. Food is quite delicious and home made and made us add few lbs but oh well. Communal areas are also really homey and cozy but we decided to spend most of our time in our suite as it was quite spacious.
Service was the highlight of our stay here, so attentive and friendly that we felt so well looked after and utterly spoiled. They made sure we have everything throughout the day and that our fireplace is lit and that our red wine is refreshed.
If you are looking for a relaxing way to spend your time in Marrakech, then I recommend you to give Dar Zemora a go.
