When it comes to picking one of Siem Reap hotels, Templation really stood out for us. It’s not only due to its Instagram fame that we wanted to stay here but its minimal design and the richness of green vegetation that got our hear. A serene oasis with an exclusive touch.
There are so many amazing Siem Reap hotels including Shinta Mani, but Templation with its 33 villas offers a great place to relax in private. In my mind, I always imagined a home in LA with a minimal chic design surrounded by greenery and when I entered my villa, I realised that this is the home I’ve been dreaming off. All I need to do now is visualise Templation villa as my home in LA and I will be good.
About Templation
On serious note guys, Templation was everything we hoped for. Our villa featured 2 separate units with outdoor bathrooms and a large swimming pool. On one side we had a bedroom and on an another, it was a spacious living room. The pool in the middle offered a perfect place to spend your days soaking in sunrays and cool deep green water. Out of all Siem Reap hotels that I looked that this proved to be one of a kind oasis and a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Templation is located close to the Angor Wat and we left the visit to the temple (read all about it here) until our stay here so we can rent bikes and cycle around the Angor. However, if you are not feeling up to a cycling challenged the hotel can provide you with your own private Tuk Tuk to take you around or even a car. Although I wouldn’t recommend going with the car from here as you will miss out on the experience.
On the days when we wanted to join their communal areas, we would have a drink at the open plan bar and restaurant overlooking the main pool. The pool is designed in a form of a secret lake and its one of the largest pools in Siem Reap. The “unforgettable sense of space” as Templation describes it really made it one of our favourite Siem Reap hotels. Once you enter your villa you literally don’t want to leave.
Adding a massage by Bodia (a line of natural products designed to relive your tension after a full day of trekking around the temples, really brought up the experience up a notch. The spa offers Khmer, Thai or Scandinavian type of massages and it will make you feel nothing short of rejuvenated.
As always guys I had to take loads of photos to bring out the atmosphere of this beautiful hotel but I have to admit it was really difficult to capture its beauty.
Verdict
I would recommend staying at the Templation out of all Siem Reap hotels if you are looking to have your own private oasis set in a very chic design. The service was amazing too and the food delicious. I feel like even if I tried to find something I didn’t like about it, it would be very difficult. Unless I mention mosquitos but this is a common annoyance in most of the Asian countries so make sure you bring quite a bit of repellant with you.
What do you guys think of my photos and would you like to stay at the Templation yourself? Templation is in top 5 hotels in Cambodia according to the Trip advisor.
