Hey everyone,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. I had so much fun on Friday at the Sky Pod Bar with my lovely friend Stephanie and decided to take as many pictures as possible to show you guys.
I’ve been meaning to go to Sky Pod for almost 5 months now, however, with such a busy lifestyle it’s not always possible to plan far ahead. I’m not sure if you guys are aware of this but Sky Garden is quite busy and if you are looking to book a dinner or even drinks than there are a good few weeks wait. I, however, decided it’s about time I do it as the place is really a must see regardless of whether you are a tourist in London for a weekend or taking your partner up there for a date.
We headed to the Sky Pod right after work and met in the City around 6.30pm. Thankfully we had a reservation as the queue was all the way around the building and it did not look to be moving fast. There is a security desk that checks your bags through a metal detector so brace yourself to wait a while if you don’t have a reservation. Thankfully we had a booking, we walked straight through and were greeted by a super polite and hospitable reservationist. Once in the lift, we headed to floor 35 where the Sky Pod is located and let me tell you I was not prepared for the amount of sunlight present as we were lucky to be visiting on such a beautiful and sunny day. On days like this, I feel abundantly happy to call London home.
The bar opens at 7 am for breakfast and stays open the whole day into the evening where you can enjoy delicious cocktails like us. You guys can visit Sky Garden 10 am to 6 pm daily and it’s free of charge but be prepared to queue, if you don’t reserve in the bar or restaurant area. They take last bookings at 6 pm and you are welcome to walk in after 6 pm and you are also able to book at later times and you can check the Sky Pod booking policy here.
We had a lovely waitress called Eliana who looked after us really well and made sure that we always had drinks and a jug of water. After a cocktail, we decided to walk around to soak in the views and take pictures and she kindly offered to look after our stuff so we didn’t have to drag our bags around with us.
I really don’t want to go on and on describing this experience but I feel if you are in the area, you should definitely visit Sky Gardens even if it’s just for views of beautiful London.
The bar is a perfect spot for a date, I feel if a guy goes through the process of taking you for a drink there than he must like you. The atmosphere is great, the band starts playing really cool tunes from 7 pm so there were a few people dancing. After sunset purple lights are switched on and the party atmosphere comes to life.
The service was immaculate and the cocktails to die for, I mean you cannot miss this place as watching the sunset with a lovely cocktail and a good friend can sometimes feel priceless.
Have a good week everyone.
Tania
