How to spend a day in LA like a blogger

LA is one of my favourite cities in the world and since I spent a whole week working and shooting here, I wanted to share how you can spend a day in LA as a blogger. We, bloggers tend to think through Instagram squares when it comes to visiting different cities so I went to my favourite Insta spots in LA to take a bunch of pictures and share them with you guys.

One of the favourite places in LA is Melrose Avenue which is a very cool area packed with shops, cafes and restaurants and bloggers favourite backdrops. Paul Smith’s pink wall being one of them :). Funny story is that the store got sued by one of the photographers losing his camera here, so now you can only shoot with your mobile or be really sneaky and shoot with the camera.

Anyway, we bloggers love to eat, well at least most of us and every good day needs to start with brunch or a late lunch. I popped over to one my favourite spots the Urth Cafe on Melrose. They literally serve the best salads and really good organic coffee pots and I opted for a Greek salad with chicken served with pita bread on the side. This is a really busy spot and you sometimes you may have to wait for a table to become available. They don’t offer table service so you will need to order at the counter, take your order number and find yourself an available seat. The Urth Cafe is really popular with locals as the food is super delicious, it’s not too expensive and food portions are really big.

Once I lined my belly, I suddenly craved an iced beverage and only one place came to mind and that is Alfred Coffee. Alfred is bloggers favourite coffee shop in LA and they are really famous for their “But First Coffee” slogan and of course really good coffee. I opted for a Kombucha as I absolutely love it and its one of my favourite refreshing bevvies. I, of course, could resist snapping a few shots here as this place is Instagramers dream.

I had to meet with a photographer for a bit to take some pictures of my outfits so from here, I went to the Carrera Cafe, Paul Smith Pink Wall, Cisco Made in LA building, upside down Los Angeles mural amongst many others. So many cool spots here that if you walk from along the Melrose Avenue toward Fairfax, you will find yourself snapping away especially if you are into street art.

I wanted to do some vintage shopping so I walked to the Fairfax. The Wasteland is really popular as they stock vintage Levi’s and Reformation dresses.  American Vintage is another cool store and I also really enjoyed window shopping as some of the displayed outfits are super cool and quirky.

This took some time so I decided to hop into an Uber toward Beverly Hills to take a picture outside Beverly Gardens Park. This is another famous spot for photographs in LA alongside the palm trees and gorgeous Beverly Hills blue skies. I was actually quite hungry by now so I walked to the Gracias Madre for some plant-based food. I opted for a Kale Salad and Freshly squeezed lemonade which was really quite delicious. The next and last stop on my plan were a cocktail at the Catch which is only a few minutes down the road from Gracias Madre but sadly Sony had a private party here so I wasn’t on the list. Although the bouncer thought I was, however, the guest list lady seemed unimpressed. Oh well, you can’t blame a girl for trying 🙂
