Vertigo Bangkok is a bar and restaurant on the 59th floor of the Banyan Tree hotel in Bangkok and the first stop of our travel adventure. After travelling for over 12 hours we were in a massive need of some amazing food and a good drink. The breathtaking view was a major plus as it really made me appreciate all that happened in 2017 and I couldn’t help but feel filled with gratitude for 2018.
About
They say you cant go to Bangkok without visiting one of its great rooftops restaurants and we couldn’t find this to be truer after arriving at Vertigo. The view ok Bangkok’s skyline was breathtaking and the sunset was more than we bargained for. The restaurant opens at 6 pm but we arrive little earlier to take photos and enjoy the early sunset light.
It was really warm so we started our dinner with a glass of beer. I have been off cocktails for some time as I don’t really enjoy the sweet taste of my drinks anymore. I honestly have no idea why this is. However, I was quite happy with my choice as nothing quenches your thirst like a good glass of cold beer. The service was extremely attentive and this is exactly what we needed after a long day of travelling.
Food
Dinner wise we opted for a three-course set menu paired with wine. For our starters, we had shrimp, followed by a fillet steak for our main and chocolate cake for the dessert. It was such a right amount of food and drink and it really made us feel set for the evening. The steak was my favourite as it was so delicious and tender that I definitely recommend you gift it a try if you find yourself at Vertigo.
We had a couple of drinks at the Moon bar which is located on the 61st floor before we headed back to our hotel. Since we only had a few days in Bangkok we didn’t want to go out too much in order to explore as much as possible during the day. I filmed some video content so will try to share it on the blog and my Youtube channel in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, what do you guys think of my photos? Have you visited Bangkok yourself?
