Monte Carlo Bay is the second hotel we stayed at on our recent trip to Monaco. My only regret is not visiting in the hotter weather as this five-star resort is surrounded by a swimming pool complex and the sea making it a perfect location to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
Monaco is not that big so it’s not too busy unless you find yourself there in the hights of the season and in which case, it’s nice to switch off and relax bt the ocean and the pool at the same time.
Location
Monte Carlo Bay is located on Av. Princesse Grace and it’s 10 min shuttle ride from the centre of Monaco. The hotel kindly provides shuttle throughout the day which is nice, however, in the evenings you will have to get a taxi as the service stops around 7 pm, if I recall that well. There are plenty of the activities you can do around the hotel including the spa and the indoor pool. Also, the Japanese Garden is a short walk away as well as the tennis club. I loved being so close to the ocean and having an amazing view of Monte Carlo.
Rooms
I stayed in their Delux Room with the mountain view with the balcony which overlooked the Monte Carlo. I loved waking up to this view as the city looked so stunning. The room was really spacious, quiet and comfortable. The room service came in twice a day and the room was left clean each time. I didn’t spend too much time in the room apart from in the evenings after dinner but it was very spacious and comfortable. The wardrobe was massive and it came with the ironing board and iron which I found quite helpful. Ashley had a room with a sea view, however, I preferred the mountain view as it looked more Monaco.
Facilities
There were plenty of facilities at the Monte Carlo Bay that you won’t even need to leave the hotel. The gym and the spa were my favourites since I couldn’t enjoy the outdoor pool due to poor weather conditions. I think in the summer if you are looking to fully recharge your batteries and rest then Monte Carlo Bay is a perfect place for it. There is a Michelin star restaurant, regular restaurant, bar and a casino which will keep you occupied n the evenings.
Food
Food was amazing! We had a dinner at the Blue Bay restaurant where the chef took our taste buds on a journey and it was very delicious. The chef Marcel Ravin really liked the passion fruit and this flavour was prominent in most of the dishes we tried. Our wine was paired with our food and in all honesty, we jsut said we would trust the chef to send out dishes that we would like. We loved every minute of it. The atmosphere was very sophisticated but you wouldn’t expect anything else from a dining experience in Monte Carlo.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and Monte Carlo Bay hotel caters to different needs and I’m sure you will find at least one activity that interests you.
Have a great week ahead.
