Paros is one of the largest islands in the Cyclades and only an hour away from the popular Mykonos. Unsurprisingly well known for its beautiful beaches and villages it really should be a destination to add to your list if Greek Islands are of interest.
I decided to spend 6 days here on my solo adventure and it was my last stop. I split my time between Naoussa and Parikia both really famous for its white buildings, churches with blue domes, sandy beaches and endless amount of taverns covered with beautiful Bougainvillea. Surprisingly there is quite a difference between Naoussa and Parikia and I would recommend Naoussa over Parkia if you are into having more outing options especially if you like busy bars and clubs.

Naoussa
Naoussa is located in the northeastern part of the island and it’s honestly one of the pretties fisherman villages I have ever seen. I stayed at Mr and Mrs White Hotel Paros which was 10 minutes walk from the town and it provided me with a perfect balance of relaxation and going out.
I have to admit that Mr and Mrs White Paros would even be better if you are in a couple as the hotel is a perfect base to lounge by the most beautiful pool with your partner whilst sipping on refreshing cocktail listening to the 90’s music. The service was genuinely so friendly and attentive that they made me feel so welcome and not lonely in the slightest.
My room all in white with a balcony overlooking the pool and countryside was really comfortable and chic that I wanted to stay longer than booked. Hotel manager Manos talked me through all the things I can do whilst in Paros and it was more than I expected and he was a great help with all the aspects of my stay.
The food was absolutely amazing and a perfect mix of Greek and Western so I couldn’t resist a plate of pasta on one of the evenings. I probably indulged way more than anticipated but it was very hard to resist.
Naoussa has a lively nightlife and more so than Parikia. The main reason for this trip for me was to escape the noise from London and relax but few days in you do start craving a bit of a social outing.
Parikia
Parikia is the main town on Paros and where the main port is. It’s a typical Cycladic architecture and even though it didn’t seem as pretty at the first sight after I explored I completely changed my mind. You will have to follow the cobbled streets and get lost in Parikia alleys which by the way provide a perfect destination for all of your holiday shopping. Even though there are only 3000 people living in Parikia, the town seemed a little bit bigger.
I spent most of my time on the Livadia beach during the day and exploring the town in the evening. I stayed in an apartment 5-minute walk from the beach and it was a perfect location to base myself in.
Other beaches to check out are Martselo and Krios as they are some of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
I found Parikia to be little cheaper than Mykonos and probably more relaxing although there are places to go out to if that’s what you fancy.
I would really recommend Mr and Mrs White Hotel in Paros as it’s in such a perfect location and close drive to everything you should see.
Have you ever been to Paros? I would love to find out your thoughts.
