Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a fun and dressy Halloween. I took it easy this year and decided to have a dinner with Kinza at the Punchbowl Mayfair, well known for formerly being owned by Guy Ritchie and Madonna. I love having dinners in Mayfair. As well as being one of the most beautiful areas in London, it’s also really relaxed and cool.
We got off at Bond Street and embarked on a short walk via Mount Street which is a home to so many amazing stores, including Celine, Balenciaga and Dior but nothing less is expected of Mayfair where you can bump into a celebrity on every single corner.
When we arrived at The Punchbowl Mayfair, we got seated immediately, we were slightly ahead of our booking and I do recommend you to book if you are heading this way as all the tables were pretty much booked out entirely. The pub is not overly large, but the atmosphere was so cool which is exactly what you would expect from Mayfair’s oldest pub that have served local clientele and celebrities for a very long time.
The service was so attentive and Ben who is a pub manager looked after us so well. We were so hungry and opted for a three courses, I had a steak tartare for my starter where Kinza had trout tartare, we bought opted for steaks, delivered to the Punchbowl by Allen’s of Mayfair known as London’s oldest butcher but this isn’t unusual for both of us as we are major carnivores.
We paired our meals with Cotes Du Rhone, which I adore and for desserts I chose Chocolate Fondant and Kinza had an Eaton Mess. The food was so delicious as well as was the wine. We finished our evening with strong coffee before heading out for a few more drinks.
We had such a great time, the Punchbowl is a perfect place for a date so if you are in the area next I urge you to check it out. Who knows you may have more luck and get a seat next to Jude Law or something as the venue is well-known for their regular celebrity clientele.
Have a good week everyone.
