Home Away From Home at the Elysian Seminyak

After a few days of relaxing and rebalancing in Ubud, it was a time to step it up a notch and travel down to a chic and fashionable Seminyak. We based ourselves at the Elysian where we had another private villa that felt like being at home. Arriving at the Elysian was a great experience in itself especially walking through the green tunnel at its entrance. The open plan reception and a friendly welcome was a great start to our Seminyak experience.

Our villa at the Elysian hidden behind a tall stonewall was another private place featuring our own pool surrounded by large windows that opened from the inside overlooking the wooden deck. Its modern and chic design and 2 bedrooms reminded me of an apartment in London that I always wanted to own. I think this is down to its cute kitchen, dining room table and a large wooden cube coffee table that made me feel so homey. The privacy and the spaciousness gave our villa at the Elysian undeniable feel of luxury. 

The villas were extremely quiet and private but only steps away from the main pool, bar and the restaurant where we could enjoy a drink in one of the gorgeous cabanas that really stood out for me. It was more lively here than in Ubud and quite fun to socialize and enjoy a night out after a good few days of relaxation. The Elysian was literally 10-minute walk from the Seminyak square but if you don’t fancy walking the tiny roads, the hotel provides a free drop off taxi when you need it. We were so close to everything that I really enjoyed staying here and wished I could live here forever.

The bedroom was so chic with green and white décor on the walls and a large bed surrounded by wall mirrors. It was one of my favourite places to enjoy breakfast in bed, as it was so spacious and bright. The bedroom was connected to a bright bathroom, which was partly open with a feeling that you are outdoor.

We had breakfast at our dining table most mornings as it was really comfortable and another thing to make you feel home away from home. After travelling for a month you get to miss your routine and it’s nice to stay at hotels that make you feel like you are in a privacy of your own home. The food was delicious as expected and the options were quite similar to Kayumanis with American, Continental and Indonesian breakfast as main options.

In the evenings the Elysian offered barbecue nights which you can choose to have in the privacy of your own villa or in the main restaurant. We were quite fortunate that it didn’t rain most of the evenings and we could enjoy a dinner under the stars. Should you fancy eating out of the hotel, the Bali café and many other restaurants were only a few minutes walk away. I absolutely loved Seminyak and its diversity. I couldn’t be happier with staying at the Elysian as it was at such a perfect location near to the fun part of Seminyak but at the same time very quiet and private. Once you are in your villa you can forget that you are located in one of the busiest parts of Bali.

Another great thing about the Elysian is that it was walking distance to the beach so should you fancy a little beach action, you can walk for 10 mins and you will be on a strip. Lound music and the European food is available in most beach bars and I loved that you can choose between fun and rowdy and chic and quiet.

I absolutely loved staying here and I can’t wait to be back. The Elysian has not only super cool décor and the best location but also the most friendly staff and a very attentive service. It’s suitable for both a holiday in a couple and with friends as you will be spoilt for choice with the number of things to do In Seminyak. We were so looked after that honestly if I could move into the Elysian, I wouldn’t mind staying there forever.
