Every time you hear about Koh Phangan, you hear about the Moon Party. The island is known for being a party island but we wanted to visit and have a completely opposite experience away from the rowdy partygoers. We chose to base our stay at the Panviman Resort Koh Phangan located on the steep hillside with the gorgeous views of the Thong Nai Pan Beach. We wanted to extend our time for relaxation so we chose to have another 2 chilled days on the island.
The luxurious Panviman Koh Phangan resort is suitable for anyone who is looking for a break and some time off away from the busy life. If you are a couple and want an exclusive 5-star experience at a decent rate, I think you will like Panviman Koh Phangan. In case you don’t know, Koh Phangan is located about 15km from Koh Samui and it took us just about an hour to get to it with the ferry. The 70% of the island is covered in tropical forest, secluded beaches and coconut fields providing a perfect relaxation spot.
Location
Panviman is one of the oldest resorts o Koh Phangan dating back to 1987. It’s located approximately 10 kilometres from the main ferry port across the island, its easy to get to by car and a motorbike, although I wouldn’t recommend riding a motorbike as roads are quite small and winy. It provides a paradise-like setting with 5-star services at which we felt so welcomed and well looked after that left us feeling super stocked with our choice to stay here. It seemed little remote and away from the main Koh Phangan spots such as Hat Rin but needless to say, this is exactly what we needed. Also, we missed the Moon Party by a couple of days so the goal was to chill around our private pool and beach for just a little longer.
Rooms
Our villa had a private pool and a quick access to resorts private beach that we literally felt so chilled and relaxed the entire time. The room was super spacious too with the quirkiest bathroom ever. The inspiration for the decor seemed to be rather nature orientated surrounded by palm trees. Dark wood furniture and a bathroom which seemed to be carved out of a tree. Our private pool was the main highlight and I loved that as soon as we arrived it started raining so I got a chance to experience a swim in the tropical rain. Panviman Koh Phangan private pool villa would satisfy any honeymooners or even anyone who is looking for an exclusive treatment with a whole lot of peace and quiet.
Food
We had breakfast here every morning served in a buffet style. So far this was our favourite breakfast in Thailand with so many dishes on offer that we felt spoiled for choice. Although I have been feeling like this rather lots lately. Service was amazing too but this goes without saying in Asia as I’m really impressed with the attentiveness of the staff at every single place we stayed at. If you want to experience a cuisine and eat outside a resort, a small village which is a 5-minute walk from the resort offers a handful of restaurants and bars. Restaurants varied a from small and cheap family run to fine dining establishments. I was really impressed at how well set up four tourism everything was and even though you are probably paying a higher price, its still decently priced and approx 200 bahts will get you a good portion of Pad Thai.
Verdict
If relaxation is what you are after, you truly cant go wrong with Panviman Koh Phangan. Since the island is so small, its not too far to go to the Moon Party should your dates be at the same, you can have a look at the schedule HERE. Taxis arent too expensive either and you get a driver to drop you off and pick you up at the time that suits you but it was little more expensive than Bangkok whcih is to be expected on a small island such as Koh Phangan.
I feel like I’m going little overboard with the amount of photos I’m posting but I can help but feel inspired when everything around me is so beautiful.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions regarding the resort or the island itself.
Have a great week ahead.

Koh Phangan is a very beautiful island. Sea water has a natural smell. The atmosphere around the island is cool. Very beautiful white sand beach. Is a very enjoyable trip in my life.
