After seeing Lisa and Aggie create the brunch friendship goals photo by the Akyra Manor pool, we knew that we had to visit this amazing place. Also, Akyra Manor was 4 minutes walk from our apartment in Chiang Mai so we decided to go for a late lunch and sunset drinks at their pool. The pool bar is literally so cool although not the biggest so the atmosphere was really nice.
By this time on our trip to Thailand, we ate uncountable Pad Thais so it was kind of nice to have some Italian food. Akyra Manor apparently has the best pizza and pasta in town so of course, we had a few dishes to share to satisfy our Italian cravings. When I’m at home I have pizza once a week so I’m kind of happy not to eat it as much in Asia but when I do, I try and make it a good one.
Alongside pizza (prosciutto ham and rocket, we had some mushroom gnocchi and summer salad to start with. Since we both are massive foodies, we love to share our dishes so the salad was a great addition. The pizza was literally out of this world and made me miss home a little. We also wanted to finish our meal off with some dessert and pretty much have devoured Tiramisu and passion fruit Pannacotta. If you do crave Italian food and find yourself in Chiang Mai, I highly recommend lunch or dinner at Akyra Manor. The restaurant is really cute too with lamps that represent trees featured throughout.
The happy hour starts at 5 pm and this is a great opportunity to go up to the pool bar and enjoy a drink or two. They had a great selection of cocktails but honestly, we are really into beer on this trip as it really helps with making you feel refreshed in the hot weather. Since the pool is literally famous on Instagram we couldn’t help but snap a few shots of us waiting for the sunset.
The sunset was also beautiful as we had a table overlooking the mountains which made it that much more special for us. The service was really nice and they served a few snack dishes to go complimentary with our drink, however, at this point, we were quite full from our lunch at the restaurant downstairs.
Chiang Mai has a massive food scene that I decided to create another blog post featuring out top 3 Instagramable cafes. I’m sure there are plenty more but after researching lots online these few spots really stood out for us. There is so much to do in Chiang Mai if you are into eating and drinking out, that we made this to be the main purpose of this trip. We did visit a few temples but we didn’t feel like there was enough time to go to the main one in the mountains so I will save this for my next visit.
Despite finding Bangkok super cool and fun to visit, Chiang Mai has my heart. I think because I’m more into a creative and hipster way of life and I was so happy to see how much this city has to offer.
I will go live with another post in the next couple of days but in the meantime what do you think of our photos from Akyra Manor?
