As you can probably tell I have this thing for hotels and I feel like I’m on the roll with reviewing it on the blog. However, this time is not the stay but rather a nice afternoon lunch at the Booking Office, an English brasserie located in the spectacular St Pancras station and St Pancras Renaissance Hotel.
St Pancras Renaissance Hotel is one of the coolest buildings in London and you may remember it from the Harry Potter movies. The hotel it adjacent to the St Pancreas Station and it used to be an old train station itself. A while ago when Kings Cross went through planning stages the building was meant to get demolished, however, the renovation took place and now we have one of the coolest hotels in London.
The Booking Office is a perfect spot if you are looking to get away from the outsides hustle and bustle. It offers the most delicious locally sourced British dishes. We had a three-course meal as you do and to start with I opted for Cornish Hand Dived Scallops with cauliflower, granny smith apple. Emily decided to go for Trealy Farm Cured Duck with baby spinach, and a soft-cooked duck egg. Her dish looked and tasted divine, although I preferred my scallops and I was happy with the choice I made.
I realized that I didn’t have a steak in while so this was an obvious choice for the main course. They have a selection of cuts but I went for Sirloin and Emily ordered Roast Suffolk Pork Belly with celeriac and burnt apple puree. We had some fries on the side and you can say we were quite full after our mains. We washed it all down with a lovely bottle of Élevé Pinot Noir which was so easy to drink and a perfect choice for a day meal.
Dessert, on the other hand, were the most dramatic especially the Ladies Smoking Room made out of 70% Guanaja chocolate mousse, smoked Ardberg 10 years milk chocolate cremeux, caramel nut crunch, dacquaise biscuit, white chocolate sorbet. It was dedicated to the first public room in Europe which women were permitted to smoke and when you lift the lid the smoke comes out. It really is a definitely must try. The second dessert we opted for is a Pumpkin Tart as we wanted to keep up with the Halloween spirit.
What do you guys think of our lunch? Do you have favorite hotels that you like to dine in, where you are?

I’ve only ever been here for a drink (which was brilliant), but the food looks and sounds so lovely. The puddings in particular sound delightful!!
