Finding a French bakery in LA was quite awesome and it felt being close to home, well just a tiny bit. I’m quite a fan of the French so having brunch in the French bakery in the middle of DTLA was quite nice. Pitchoun Bakery is located on the Olive Street and a must visit if you find yourself in the area.
French bakery Pitchoun is a great choice if you like fresh bread, pastries, soup, sandwiches and of course macaroons. As per usually off I went and ordered way too much for one person. The choice of desserts looked way too good to pass on but I must admit that I failed to finish and had to take some of it home.
I decided to order a Parisian Omelette with French ham, Swiss cheese, mushroom & spinach served with bread and salad, my friend ordered DTLA sandwich made with roasted turkey, brie cheese, tomato, avocado and lettuce. Dessert wise we opted for Raspberry tart, Eclair of the day and a choice of Macarons. The food came out really quick and portions were very big but I suppose this is to be expected in America. Needless to say, it was quite delicious and I can’t wait to come back.
The setting was really cute featuring wooden tables inside and orange chairs and tables outside. WE decided to sit outside in the shade as it was a really hot day. It was a Sunday so DTLA was pretty quiet however, I imagine this area beeing really during the week as its pretty close the financial district.
I actually spent a little more time in DTLA this time around and really enjoyed it. I can also recommend you check out the Perch which is a really cool rooftop bar not too far from the Frech Bakery Pitchoun.
Do you guys like cute little French spots too? If you are in LA, have you ever visited Pitchoun?
