Top 5 favourite Face Cleansers

Hey guys,

It’s finally Friday so Happy Friday to all of you lovely people out there. Friday is usually time for a beauty post so I thought I’d share my top 5 favourite face cleansers, tried and tested over the years.

Finding a good cleanser can sometimes be difficult as the beauty industry and the market are overloaded with options for you to choose. I try usually to stay away from the Superdrug brands that in my opinion don’t do much for my skin. When I say this I mean when I tone my skin after using a cleanser and the cotton pad is still dirty, it’s time to change your cleanser as the one you just used probably did nothing for you or your skin.

Anyhow, I picked a few to review for you guys, and I’m going to talk about them but in no particular order. I’m going to start with:

Lancome Galateis Douceur Cleanser

This little thing (which is actually pretty big) comes in a 400ml bottle so there’s plenty to last you a while and its suitable for all skin types. The formula is light and milk based making it safe to use on all areas including your eyes. It removes all makeup including lipstick. On top of this is the cleansing benefit, it also moisturises and hydrates skin which is always a plus. It does clean quite well and it’s gentle on skin, however, what I found with this product is that you need a quite a bit of it to fully remove your makeup. I think this is due to the fact that I use it on top of my cotton pad rather than applying it on my face and then removing with an either a tissue or a wet cloth. All in all, it’s a good product and I would give it 3.5 out of 5. If you are in the market for something gentle and if you don’t wear a lot of makeup throughout the day, then this is a definitely a good choice.

ELEMIS Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser

This little bad boy was a gift from my flatmate and I absolutely adore it. It comes in a 200ml tube with a complementary cleansing cloth to use to remove all the impurities after applying the product. Its smells so lovely and it feels quite luxurious on the skin, it apparently contains anti-oxidants to protect your skin to pollutant exposure and it’s most importantly an anti-aging product. A lot of Elemis products have a natural base which makes them really good for your skin. I apply this product on slightly damp skin and use the cleansing cloth to remove everything. It’s definitely one of the best cleansers I’ve ever tried and when I tone after cleansing, my cotton pad is always clean after using this product. Highly recommended!

Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Gelée/Refine

This is another one of my favourite face cleaners ever, its super gentle on skin yet also gently exfoliates thanks to small exfoliating beads, it’s so light and foams super well and most importantly is good for my oily skin. This product is part of my morning routine as I prefer milk cleansers in the evening and I can’t recommend this enough. The bottle is not big at only 150ml however, it lasts forever especially when you use it once a day. I find this to be the case with all Estée Lauder products. I will definitely be reinvesting in this cleanser again as not only does it unclog my pores but it reduces the oil production throughout the day making my skin look really healthy.

One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract

I’m obsessed with Clarins even though I know that there are some better products out there, I love Clarins as I have been using it for so many years and I feel this brand is part of my family. This One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser does exactly what it says on the tin, it scrubs, exfoliates, cleanses and hydrates and I love the way my skin looks after I use it, so smooth and bright. I think the downside, in my opinion, is that it doesn’t unclog pores as much as the Este Lauder one does however, my pores are the size of England and it’s a real mission to find a product that leaves them clean. It does, however, refreshes  skin and it smells so lovely with the Orange Extract aiding to this. This one is more purse friendly than Estee Lauder and it’s absolutely great as it removes everything.

Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water

I know I said that I don’t really buy Superdrug products, however; this Micellar Water product is definitely the exception. I use this on my lazy days, when I come home after a big dinner or a few glasses of wine and when I can’t be bothered to invest much time into removing my make up (don’t repeat this). It’s so efficient in removing all traces of make-up, it also hydrates your face and you apply it with a cotton pad to remove your makeup and it literally feels as though you just stepped out the shower. Its fragrance-free and it comes in a large 400ml bottle and it lasts forever, it also has toning abilities so you don’t need to tone after using it, just apply serum and moisturiser and you are good to go.
