Weekend at Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal

Hi guys,

I just got back to London after spending a wonderful weekend in Paris, one of my favorite cities in the world. Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal invited me to Paris and I thought this is a perfect opportunity to visit the city of lights and love once again and get lost in its beautiful streets and architecture.

We arrived at Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal early on Saturday morning and headed straight to the hotel to drop our bags off. A friendly concierge greeted us who took care of our luggage and reception checked us in no time. The lounge area of the hotel looked lush and we were quite excited to see our room.

I was booked into the Junior Suite and I was so happy to find a bouquet of white roses on my arrival with a letter welcoming me both to the hotel and Paris and, of course, a selection of macaroons, but that goes without saying. The room was really bright and airy, quiet and oh so comfortable that we literally hadn’t slept that well in a super long time. I had the longest shower before heading out and I was pleased to see that they use Carita, Paris products, as toiletries in the hotel are not always the best for your skin. I say this because I had most of my beauty products confiscated at Heathrow Terminal 5 so be aware if you are taking off from there as they only allow one bag per passenger. Who can fit all their products in one bag?

After checking out the room and having a quick touch up of ourselves, we headed to explore Montmartre but I will post about that later in the week.

We had breakfast at the hotel both mornings, which was a selection of delicious bread, cheeses, cured meat and fresh fish and, of course, a lot of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. The staff was so attentive that literally as soon as we finished eating plates were whizzed away.

The hotel was set in a perfect location, pretty much in walking distance of everywhere and we were a stones’ throw away from the Louvre, which we decided to visit yesterday, however, more about that in the next few days.

The location was everything, Printemps was literally 2 seconds away so it made it quite easy to shop, explore and see all the beauty that this amazing city offers. You will see my new treat in a fashion post on Wednesday; let’s just say that I really did treat myself this time.

We treated ourselves to dinner at the hotels restaurants last night as we were so exhausted to venture out after walking for hours in the past couple of days. But oh was that a good decision. The lounge bar and Lu Lulli restaurant are located on the ground floor so we only had to take a lift down which was helpful. Again the service was 15 out of 10 and our waiter recommend the most delicious glass of Clarendelle Inspire par Haute-Brion 2009, to go with my steak, which, was served with creamy mash potatoes and a green salad. Siobhan, however, opted for the roasted chicken breast also with mashed potatoes and salad, paired with Pouilly Fume 2013. The food was really delicious and we felt that this was the right way to finish our weekend, with a full belly.

I felt so welcomed by the staff at the Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal and was treated so well by all involved and they made sure we had everything we could ever need, they even printed our boarding passes for us and I really can’t recommend Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal highly enough.

I can’t wait to share the rest of our Paris adventure with you guys and, of course, to come back to Paris soon.

Love
