Hey, everyone! I have to admit that I’m not the one who embraces dining at the chain restaurants but after hearing so much about how good the steak is at CAU from everyone at work, I finally decided to give CAU a go.
I met with my girlfriends on Friday evening, dressed up in heels and headed over to the St Katherine’s dock to try the steak that everyone at work keeps on going on about. One of the CAU’s restaurants is located right on the St Katherines dock overlooking the little harbour with boats docked, giving you a right holiday feeling in the middle of London. The CAU is a restaurant group that drives their inspiration from Buenos Aires cuisine.
The CAU wasn’t as busy and we dined around 6pm which was really nice as lately I can’t deal with crowded places. The service was so attentive and it started without waitress introducing herself to us and letting us know that she will be looking after us throughout the evening. We were quite hungry and decided to go for a 2 course with a couple of sides to accompany our steaks. To start I opted for Salt & Pepper Squid as I love it so does Steph however, Emily opted for Pollo de Chicharron which is soy-marinated chicken thighs & wings served with smoky aioli.
For the mains, I decided to go for 260g Sirloin and girls chose Rump steaks! Steaks were served with salad or chips, I opted for salad as well as a side of coal roasted cauliflower florets, mixed tomato salad, and baked sweet potatoes. We washed it all down with a nice glass of Malbec as you do and finished it all off with a nice cup of Americano to help digest all that food I pretty much inhaled.
Overall even though I didn’t think that the steak was the best I ever had and can’t say that it lives up to the other Argentian restaurants I dined in, it was a nice dinner at a great location with awesome service. Out of all London restaurants chains, I would say CAU is a good one to go to.

I love CAU, it is such a nice place and their steaks are to die for ! Have you ever tried Gaucho ? It’s an argentian restaurant company as well, I think they are 12 or 13 of them all around London 🙂
