Farmstand is a cute little cafe located on the Drury Lane just off the Covent Garden. It’s such a great spot for lunch if you are looking to take a break from shopping and fill your belly with healthy goodness. What’s cool about Farmstand is their food philosophy. All of their food is free from refined sugars, fed in a natural way and treated humanely. Also, the food is gluten, dairy and GM free. They serve UK farms sourced meat and vegetables and offer really healthy choices.
We walked around the Covent Garden for a while and when we felt hunger strike, it was time for a good hearty meal that won’t leave us feeling sluggish. I love eating loads and aside from my pasta takeaway addiction, I have been trying to make better choices in my life. I find it hard especially if I’m lacking the time and somehow eating unhealthy is so much more convenient. I still don’t understand why is this the case and the government should do something about making healthy food more convenient for people.
Having said that, we decided to start with a drink of Kombucha as lately, I’m quite obsessed with it. I decided to build my own meal consisting of Harris Chicken, Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Broccoli with Tahini. My sister had Slow Cooked Beef with Quinoa and Brown rice. You can see their menu here.
The food was extremely filling and delicious but without the feeling of sluggishness. When you arrive at Farmstand, you order your food at the counter where you are faced with yum choices. You can also pick a snack from the fridge. The service is really nice and friendly and they didn’t mind us sitting there for over an hour. The setting is so bright and relaxing so we wanted to stay even longer by ordering Coconut Blondie cakes and coffee.
I really recommend Farmstand if you find yourself in Covent Garden looking for a quick lunch in cool seating with healthy options. I’m sure you will love it as much as we did. The meal we built ourselves costs just over 7 pounds which really a great deal for the area.
